Episode 01 Review
Warning! The screencaps are totally bias x] Why? Because Ichihara Hayato is one of the j-actors I drool over everytime I see him. Feel free to fangirl/fanboy with me!!
This first episode is jam packed with hilarious scenes and lack of hormonal control. We first see Sarumaru Yataro at work, picking an apartment door lock because some girl seems to have lost her key. A likely story. He compliments how he’ll unlock any door for her because she’s nice and beautiful. He finally gets the door unlocked and before he can ask her out, she shoves right past him and starts yelling at the guy inside. Turns out that she doesn’t live there, her ex-boyfriend does. Through all the yelling and slapping around, she declares to her ex that he can change the lock all he wants but Yataro will open any door for her. However, once the attention turns to him ..
he straight out retracts what he had said before.
He leaves and gets on his moped. While riding through the streets, he greets various friends and neighbors until he reaches his shop.
The store logo is so cute!
When he arrives at his shop, there’s a little boy waiting outside. Why? He can’t open his little piggy bank; so, Yataro opens it for him.
He’s so cute and funny x]
After the little boy leaves, he heads inside to put cash in the register. That is until he hears a girl upstairs and runs up there. The door opens and his friend, Yamamoto Kenji, is standing there .. butt-naked. That is not something I was expecting or even wanted to see @_@; Well, Kenji was actually watching an erotic video on Yataro’s tv. They talk about typical guy business when it comes to these videos until Kenji mentions he’s found the “perfect” spot. And just what is that “perfect” spot?
Peeking at girls and their underwear!
These perverts LOL! Then a girl named Mitsuhara Ritsuko comes along and drags the two away. They were supposed to have a neighborhood meeting at Yataro’s shop. During the meeting, they have a discussion about a new establishment called the Dating Club. A Dating Club is where you can call in and schedule a date that lasts for a few hours. Yataro and Kenji are getting their tensions high at the topic and the neighbors at the meeting are wondering if they actually support that kind of service. In order to protect their dignity, Yataro ..
accidentally outs his virginity HAHA
Soon enough, the elders leave right after they hand off the responsibility to the young ones – Yataro, Ritsuko, and Kenji. So how do they plan on dealing with this Dating Club?
They camp out in an open truck.
Oh yeah, that’s being discreet.
During their stake out, they notice a number of people (mainly girls) go in and out of an apartment. One of the girls in particular, Ritsuko recognizes. They all go back home, only to find that all of Ritsuko’s panties are stolen. The last to arrive at the scene is Yamada Jiro, the neighborhood police officer that has a crush on her. Yataro welcomes him and starts throwing her bras at him. LOL these goofs! Jiro asks Ritsuko to see her photo album and they find that all the pictures have been stolen as well. Apparently this is the work of professionals who sell the stolen underwear with a picture of the owner attached. Talk about gross and perverted -_-; While Ritsuko and Jiro are taking the theft seriously, Yataro and Kenji are reminiscing the funny days as they flip through another photo album. They trick Jiro into thinking they’ve found a love letter he wrote to Ritsuko and start poking fun at him. On the other hand, Ritsuko is staring at a picture of her and a friend, which is the girl she saw during their stake out. Later, Yataro helps his father back into his home and his father gives him a ero magazine. While flipping through the magazine, he finds an ad for girl’s underwear with pictures attached to them. Taking this as a clue, he does the investigation on his own and sees a bunch of guys with a bunch of underwear and pictures. Smart Yataro!
Meanwhile, we see Jiro biking past Ritsuko’s store. He stops and takes out a picture of her to admire. Out of nowhere, Yataro comes running to inform him something but changes his mind and leaves (or so Jiro thinks ;] ) A girl approaches Jiro because she lost her phone and they decide to call it. That’s when ..
Yataro appears out of nowhere.
As she’s about to give Jiro her number to call her cell phone. Yataro starts to say how he’ll be persistent in pursuing her. He’ll never leave her alone. As he continues to make Jiro look like a fool, she starts to back away. Jiro, of course, denies everything and starts to push Yataro away. Then Yataro yells,
“He’s just a pervert! A PERVERT!”
This is seriously one of the most hilarious scenes I have ever seen x] Especially with a face like that! Soon enough, the girl runs away from the madness coming from these two. In the next scene, Ritsuko is at Yataro’s shop asking him for help. Her friend, Eri, had joined the Dating Club because she needed money. However, things in that Dating Club escalated to a point where her superiors wanted her to sleep with their customers. Basically, prostitution. I don’t get why they don’t just say that. Now, why can’t Eri just quit? Well, the Dating Club has pictures of her with her clothes off and they are using these pictures as a threat to ruin her reputation. At first, Yataro doesn’t want to help and says that this is a matter for the police. That’s when Eri shows up. Yataro stares at her like any guy would and says he’ll help her in an instant. He starts to day dream which involves her asking him for help, him accepting, and Eri offering to sleep with him to give her thanks. Ritsuko brings him back to reality by mentioning that Yataro has ..
a nosebleed LOL!
He snaps out of it and grabs a box of tissue. Eri explains her situation and mentions the other girls that need help. Naturally at the mention of other girls, Kenji becomes curious and starts to day dream as well. And just like Yataro ..
he gets a nosebleed too.
So both of them are eager to help and that leads them to staking outside the apartment once again. Once the last person leaves, Yataro and Kenji (dressed as delivery guys) sneak inside the apartment after Yataro picks the lock. They snoop around for the provocative pictures/videos of the girls in the Dating Club. The way they sneak around is soooo silly! They find the profiles of all the girls and start to pick which ones are their type. They finally reach a locked room. Yataro picks the lock and inside is a large cabinet with a complicated lock. As Yataro tries to unlock it, the suspects/bad guys come back with a girl that wants out of the business. The two eavesdrop from the room and find the box of stolen underwear. Right before the evil guys take advantage of her, they rush to her rescue in the world’s best disguises ever!
EPIC!! TOTALLY EPIC!
These two totally beat out all those Hollywood superheroes x] So before the bad guys can get them, they turn out the lights. Yataro appears lying on the table where the girl was and as he heads for the balcony, the bad guys think they have him cornered. All of a sudden he leaps off the balcony only to land in the back of their stake out truck and they drive off into the night. At Yataro’s shop, they are all gathered and are regretful that they didn’t retrieve the photos/videos. Yataro is angry at himself for not being able to pick the lock and failed to get what they were after. The conversation turns even more serious as Eri gets angry and tells everyone to just leave her alone. What the heck!? She asked THEM for help and here she is being ungrateful -_-; at least they tried! Anyway, Eri leaves and soon so does Ritsuko and Kenji. Yataro is left to cry in his living room about how he could have slept with Eri. It’s okay Yataro, you’re too good for her anyway!
And that’s the end of episode 1. I admit that this series is way funnier than I thought it would be. Despite the plotline being a bit lame, the comedy totally makes up for it. Episode 2 is the continuation of this case and please look forward to it ^.^
